Residents typically spend their days on-site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., though schedules can vary depending on the rotation, location, and unit needs. Every Thursday afternoon, residents come together for didactic education, featuring lectures and hands-on workshops that foster both learning and camaraderie. Throughout your rotations, you'll have the opportunity to explore your individual interests and tailor your residency experience with areas of focus such as sports medicine, obstetrics, and geriatrics.
As a PGY-2 and PGY-3, you'll have greater exposure to outpatient rotations, providing increased time with continuity clinic patients. During these experiences, you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, including services in behavioral health, pharmacy, nursing, and social work.
Both M.D. and D.O. residents receive exposure to Osteopathic curriculum and treatment, and all are given the opportunity to integrate osteopathic principles into their clinical practice.
