Meritus Medical Center’s pulmonary rehabilitation program is designed to help people with chronic lung conditions live full, rewarding lives. The program combines a comprehensive evaluation with the right mixture of exercise and education. The goal is to improve your quality of life and to make sure you can continue doing the things you love to do. A customized plan will be developed based on the goals set by you and the rehabilitation team.
Patients diagnosed with any of the following benefit with pulmonary rehabilitation:
- COPD
- Asthma
- Chronic Bronchitis
- Interstitial Lung Disease
- Pre- and post–lung transplant surgery
- Emphysema
The Pulmonary rehab program consists of a number of components including:
- Education for the patient and their families will be provided to improve their knowledge of the Chronic Lung Disease.
- Exercise sessions will be part of each class to improve the function of your heart and lungs. Exercise also helps to strengthen the muscles used for breathing, which will decrease your shortness of breath.
- Emotional support is provided for patients with anxiety and depression. Both are common among patients with chronic disease.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Hours of operation:
The program is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for class. When you call, you will be provided with options of dates and times for initial evaluation.
